Yasmin Ozyilmaz
I am a multidisciplinary artist with a background in illustration and printmaking. My work explores themes of personal growth, transformation, and the feminine aspects of my identity. Inspired by my experiences as a woman, I create delicate, emotive imagery that reflects my evolving sense of self. Nature is a recurring motif in my practice, often intertwined with the human form as a metaphor for emotional and personal development. This symbolism allows me to express a continuous process of becoming, capturing moments of change, vulnerability, and self-discovery.
My process is shaped by experimentation with colour, texture, and figurative forms.
I am particularly drawn to the tactile qualities of print and the ways in which layered imagery can convey depth, mood, and symbolic, meaning. I often lean into abstraction especially of the figurative form as a way to interpret emotions. Rather than presenting clear narratives, my work invites viewers to engage with the imagery on a personal level, drawing their own meanings from visual metaphors. My work continues to evolve as I explore identity through various symbolic forms.
