Artist Statement

I moved to North Norfolk in 1985 and studied printmaking at the Norwich School of Art and design from 1987 to 1990.

My printmaking method is etching, for me this is about mark making. The etched mark has a happy uncontrollability about it, a quality of the unexpected. Etching is also about a light and dark which is mysterious, sometimes it shimmers and sometimes it is totally opaque. Sometimes it works but more often than not it doesn’t. It is very long winded and obsessive, once you get hooked on etching it is hard to give up.

My work is situated in the North Norfolk land and seascape - An interpretation - a thought.
