Artist Statement
To date my painting and printmaking has sought to explore a relationship between my experience of contemporary landscape and the ideas and aesthetics of past art traditions. Familiar places evoke associations with the past and the residue of perceptions about our relationship to nature and the land as a stage for human history.
I began working with etching and drypoint, but now am experimenting with a range of materials and combinations of techniques, from wood engraving to photographic processes.
I am currently teaching art and photography at Paston College in North Walsham.
